"Speed Demon" was my first exposure to a "bizarro episode", or an episode that feels very out of place compared to the rest of the show, yet it works incredibly. All coming to a conclusion with a tragic, but very silly twist ending. It uses the full 22 minutes to its advantage, both in telling the story and portraying just how massive the fight between the Dynamo and the monster really was. "Uh Oh, Dynamo" is one of my favorite episodes of any cartoon just for how well-paced and timed everything is.To commemorate the 25th birthday of this excellent cartoon, here are six great episodes I'd heavily recommend to anyone who hasn't seen them, from all across the show's run. So, while I wouldn't say that PPG was one of my favorite cartoons growing up, I think it did indirectly affect a lot of my interests and sensibilities growing up regardless. ![]() When Friendship is Magic's 2nd season came out, and I first saw people online hyping the show up, looking it up and finding out that Lauren Faust created that show is what got me to give the show a chance. ![]() That event is also what probably kicked off "browsing Wikipedia for hours on end" as one of my favorite pastimes as a kid. It's probably my biggest regret when it comes to NOT purchasing something.Ĭraig McCracken was probably the first cartoon creator I "followed" after my cousin introduced me to Wikipedia, and I found out there that PPG and Foster's were created by the same guy. It's been ~15 years, and I'm still kicking myself for not picking up the Complete Series DVD when I saw it at Barnes & Noble. In light of this news, now is a great time to rewatch the original Powerpuff Girls.PPG was slightly before my time (I would probably say I grew up more with Foster's than I did this show), but I liked this show when I would catch reruns of it growing up. What this means is the Powerpuff pilot will be filmed outside of pilot season, making it a contender for *next year’s* set of new CW shows. Unfortunately, though, the pilot is now being reworked, which means it’ll be a while before teaser trailers or premiere dates are even on the table for discussion.Īs Variety reported in May 2021, the show is very much still happening and the same cast is attached to it. Since The Powerpuff Girls was announced back in August 2020, fans were hoping it would hit screens soon. As of May 2021, the pilot is being reworked for “a later time.” Unfortunately, this means we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer until the pilot can be reshot since they won’t begin casting for Blossom again until fall 2021. While Chloe hasn’t officially revealed the reason behind her leave, a source told the mag that scheduling issues caused her to step back. star has left the project, according to Variety. Chloe Bennet is no longer playing Blossom Here’s everything we know about the live-action reboot (and The CW’s new plan to “rework” the series) with our favorite citizens of Townsville. ![]() There are some interesting details about that casting below! The CW is busy creating a live-action reboot of The Powerpuff Girls and its cast is pretty awesome: Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault will take on the roles of Bubbles and Buttercup, respectively. Get ready for a piece of nostalgia, because your favorite childhood cartoon is back! Except it’s not a cartoon anymore, and it’s not really for children.
